Fashion Is Art

The Met Gala just occurred with the theme "Fashion Is Art." And I was underwhelmed with what celebrities wore. To me fashion is for expression and making statements. It's artistry. And I have definitely seen more of that in past Met Gala's.

I would like to share my journey of fashion as I want to be sure to document some of the "art" that I wear and have been inspired by.

From middle school to 10th grade, I primarily wore Black and other neutrals. For homecoming and for my day to day. The statement was "Black is beautiful no matter the shade." Which was the theme for my Sweet 16 and my wedding. So I still included that statement as I aged.

But my junior year, I for some reason discovered color lol. With that burst of expression, I discovered my Color Analysis or what colors looked good on my skin tone.

But after college, I really started exploring graphic tees or statement shirts. As well as jewelry that spoke to who I am. This is how I want to be remembered. Cause there is always something to say.

I saw fashion as a way of expressing who I am internally, on the outside.
